Description: The Capital High School Parent Organization (CHSPO) is raising funds for Grad Night 2025, a safe and sober graduation night celebration for the CHS class of 2025. Grad Night, a longstanding CHS tradition, is a professionally-produced, overnight celebration for graduating seniors only. It is a night for graduates to create memories with friends as they celebrate their accomplishments and prepare to move on to the next stage of their personal journeys. As they celebrate, our intent is to offer a fun, engaging, and safe event. Car accidents are the #1 cause of death of teens. Those risks rise on nights with big celebrations, such as graduation. Our event will provide transportation to and from the event. Seniors depart in buses from graduation at approximately 10 PM on the night of graduation; for an all-night extravaganza with incredible games and activities, professional entertainment, great food, and much more. Students return early the following morning at around 6:30 AM. Our intent is to make the Grad Night celebration open to all 2025 CHS graduates. Unfortunately, over one-third of the students at CHS qualify as low-income and will find it a challenge to cover the ticket price. We are raising funds to keep the ticket price moderate for all and particularly to offer scholarships to any graduate who needs assistance. We don’t plan to turn anyone away for inability to pay. The CHSPO is run by parent volunteers and raises money for teachers and students at CHS. Throughout the school year, the CHSPO funds a variety of programs and services that enhance student learning through Teacher Grants, aid to students, staff recognition, and other enrichment activities.
