- The Kathleen Sutton Fund has a single and simple mission: That is to reimburse transportation costs to women undergoing treatment for cancer that live in Clallam, Jefferson, Kitsap and Mason Counties of Washington State. We live in a very Rural area and some women in these counties travel 4 or more hours to get to treatment, tests or surgery, along with our Ferry system to get to Seattle, it can get very expensive. We try to help alleviate some of that financial stress. In 2024 there were 280 women were reimbursed $153,662. Of that over $95,000 was for mileage & over $45,000 for Ferry tickets. By helping with the travel expenses we are allowing them to focus more on treatment and healing.
