- As Zontians, we envision a world in which women's rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential--where every woman is literate; has access to education, health care, legal and economic resources on an equal basis with men; and no woman lives in fear of violence. To date, the Zonta Club of Washington D.C. has participated in state coalitions to advocate for law revisions essential to ending child marriage in Maryland, Virginia and in the District of Columbia. The Zonta Club of Washington Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization. Scholarships to local area university students and grants to local District of Columbia and international service projects through program funding and hands-on services are awarded annually. Funds to support the work of the Foundation are derived from Foundation fundraisers, gifts from the Zonta Club of Washington, D.C., member donations, as well as public donations.
