- Assistance League® of Pomona Valley (ALPV) is a chapter of National Assistance League, an all volunteer member driven 501(c)3 organization. We provide services to low-income children and families living in Chino Hills, Claremont, Diamond Bar, La Verne, Pomona and San Dimas. Operation School Bell® has been our signature program since 1998 and serves approximately 1,300 children each school year. We offer a “store-like” setting so children can “shop” for their clothing in a comfortable environment. Each child, in grades K-12, receives a week’s worth of new school clothing, which includes a jacket. Each family also receives a Family Care Kit containing toiletry and household items. Books for Kids is our literacy program. Each child who receives clothing through Operation School Bell also receives new and used books from our library. Assault Survivor Kits® provide victims of assault with toiletries, clothing and other survival items. We partner with Project Sister to distribute these kits. Act of Giving is our annual holiday program. ALPV members adopt families who need a little extra help making Christmas merry. Families are referred by school districts and receive gifts, gift cards and other seasonal items.
